OUR STORY
Engaging the World
Auga Technologies (formerly Meetoo and before that, Lumi Technologies), has been trading since 2008. Its patent-backed technology, was developed in Finland for the Smartphone age and was fashioned and informed by the notion that meetings and classes can be materially enhanced through the provision of polling, Q&A and other forms of engagement.
Auga’s path has been iterative and the current management and Directors acknowledge the contribution of colleagues and associates in terms of their energy, vision and commitment.
Auga founders, Mark Beilby and Marcus Wikars, remain active within the company as Executive Chairman and CTO respectively, as do system architects Magnus Holtlund and Johannes Berg.
Key Managers CEO Jon Fowler and Vevox Managing Director Pete Eyre have each devoted nearly two decades to building businesses in the interactive meetings and educational technology space.
The Company was boot-strapped for its first two years and was subsequently backed, and continues to be backed, by supportive shareholders. An Angel network comprising some of the UK’s leading Financiers, Corporate Lawyers and Entrepreneurs invested in 2010. Chris Morris, Founder and former Chairman of Computershare is Auga’s largest shareholder. In December 2011, WPP PLC took a single figure percentage holding.
The scale and scope of the business was transformed through the acquisition of Interactive Meetings Limited (IML) in 2013. IML’s business focused on the provision of interactive technology at full-service Meetings and Events. It was also the world leading provider of registration and voting at shareholder meetings.
In April 2017, a majority stake in the Lumi AGM business (the business acquired through the IML transaction in 2013) was sold to the Private Equity Group Vespa Capital (https://www.vespacapital.com) at a substantial value uplift.
